Terms of service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before purchasing or using the Renovation Roadmap digital toolkit. Renovation Roadmap is operated under the registered business name RENOVATION READY (ABN 46 026 002 301). By completing a purchase or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. The service

Renovation Roadmap provides a digital toolkit designed to assist Australian homeowners in planning and managing residential renovation projects. The Service includes a nine-chapter renovation guide, Reno Starter mini-guides, budget tracking tools, compliance checklists, trade email templates, and a digital handover vault (collectively, the "Service").

The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute legal, financial, engineering, or building advice. Users must engage licensed professionals for all regulated works.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase or use the Service. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

3. Purchase and access

Annual subscription. Access to the Service is granted upon successful completion of an annual subscription payment at the applicable tier price. Prices are in Australian dollars. GST is not charged on the Service, as we are not currently registered for GST.

Instant access. Upon successful payment, you will receive immediate access to the Service via your registered account.

No automatic renewal. Your subscription does not automatically renew. Access to the Service ends at the close of your paid subscription period, and no further payment is taken unless you choose to purchase a new subscription. We will send a reminder email to your registered address a few weeks before your subscription expires. To continue access, you may purchase a new subscription at your chosen tier.

No partial refunds. Because the subscription does not automatically renew, there is nothing to cancel to avoid future charges. If you stop using the Service before your subscription period ends, no partial refunds are issued for unused time, except where required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law).

Non-transferable. Your licence to use the Service is personal and non-transferable. You may not share your account credentials or transfer your licence to another individual.

4. Refund policy

Your Australian Consumer Law rights. Nothing in this refund policy limits your rights to a repair, replacement or refund under the Australian Consumer Law where the Service fails to meet a consumer guarantee. These rights cannot be excluded.

Change of mind. We do not offer change-of-mind refunds. If you experience a problem with the Service, contact support and we will work with you to resolve it, including providing any remedy required under the Australian Consumer Law.

Processing. Approved refunds are processed within 5 business days and issued to the original payment method.

5. Intellectual property

All content within the Service, including but not limited to text, templates, checklists, guides, software, and design, is the intellectual property of Renovation Roadmap and is protected by Australian and international copyright law.

Your purchase grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable personal licence to use the Service for your own renovation project. You may not reproduce, distribute, resell, or create derivative works from any Service content without our express written permission.

The trade email templates included in the Service are provided for your personal use. You may adapt the content for your own renovation correspondence, but you may not redistribute or resell the templates.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be lawfully excluded. Subject to those rights, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not warrant that:

  • The compliance information in the Service is complete, current, or applicable to your specific local government area or development
  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components
  • The results of using the Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations

Building regulations, council requirements, and strata by-laws change regularly. You are responsible for verifying all compliance requirements with the relevant authority before commencing any works.

7. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be lawfully excluded, and this section is subject to those rights. Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Renovation Roadmap will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Any errors or inaccuracies in compliance or regulatory information
  • Any decisions made in reliance on the Service
  • Any costs, fines, or losses arising from your renovation project

Subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of Renovation Roadmap or any third party
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its related systems
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract content from the Service

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where the change is significant, by email to your registered address before it takes effect. Material changes will not apply retrospectively to your current paid subscription period. If a material change disadvantages you, you may cancel and request a pro-rata refund of the unused portion of your current period. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. General

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and refund policy, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service, subject to any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
